Horse Whispering Workshop
This workshop will involve an introduction to Ground School and an introduction to Mounted work.
I will meet you where you’re at. Unlike many other programs in the industry, this system does not interfere with other horse training methods; instead it shapes and supplements your existing skills. What makes this system different is that it teaches you Refinement~pure and simple. I will take what you have already learned; refine it and shape it; to make it EVEN BETTER! If you have no prior training—I will teach you a step-by-step, scope and sequence system for establishing a safe working relationship with your horse that you will in a logical, and progressive manner, develop into a natural partnership based on body language, horse psychology and herd dynamics.
Material to be covered in this workshop includes:
~Learning the "Bubble"
~Controlling the Shoulders
~Developing relaxation, impulsion and posture on the longe line
~Basic Flexions for Control and Balance
~Subtly and Escalations of Aid and Timing the Aids to the Feet
~Developing Free Forward Motion
~Patterns for: Relaxation, Suppleness and Balance
~Developing the "Seat" Connection
~and more!
Pre-Requisites Include:
~No Studs! This is important for the safety of Evan, the other participants and yourself. If you need help handling a problem stud - please contact Evan for assistance at 360-551-3736 or Email him.
~Participants must be able to safely lead horse into the arena by themselves without assistance (it is important for all handlers to be fairly safe around their own horse for Evan to be able to instruct a large group of horse owners effectively.)
~Participants must be able to ride at a walk and trot without falling off.
~No aggressive horses (i.e. they attempt to kick or bite other horses). If you own a "problem" horse Evan will work you privately after the workshop is over. This is safer for you and your horse. If you own a highly problematic horse (i.e. extreme fear issues; bucking; rearing; striking; kicking; bolting; flipping over; pulling back; needle shy etc...) you are encouraged to submit them for Evan's "Problem Solving Demonstrations".

Ground-School Workshop
This workshop focuses on the Level 1 Ground School curriculum of Olympic Dream Horsemanship. Despite this workshop being the first in the ODH Ground School series...this WILL be the most challenging Ground School clinic you've ever taken.
Ground School is more than just “ground manners”. It is a comprehensive system for developing a horse’s behaviors and responses on the ground. We start with exercises that are designed to keep you safe when working with or around horses on the ground. These tasks transition step by step into exercises that mimic the same riding routines that you will be doing with your horse under saddle. Through Ground-School every single riding exercise can be taught on the ground. This is far easier and safer on both the horse and the handler and gives you far greater scope and depth in your horsemanship than riding alone could achieve. This knowledge and training will give you the tools and techniques to: solve any problem...with any horse!
Material to be covered includes:
~Learning the "Bubble" and Utilizing Personal Space for Control
~Controlling the Horse's Body Parts with "feel"
~Developing relaxation, impulsion and posture on the longe line
~Subtly and Escalations of Aid and Timing the Aids to the Feet
~Overcoming fear issues
~Utilizing "herd dynamics" and "prey animal psychology" to solve ANY problem...with ANY horse!

Cowboy-Dressage Workshop
This workshop will cover the Level 1 and an Introduction to Level 2 Mounted Material of the Olympic Dream Horsemanship method.
Dressage is not “English” or “Western”. Dressage means to teach, train and develop. Its origins go back to the Greek General Xenophon, thousands of years ago. It was based on the concepts of battle movements designed for mounted soldiers on the battlefield. Even though we no longer need horses for war, we should still try to retain the concepts of classical equestrianism, which are centered around mental and physical relaxation, balance and harmony.
Material to be covered includes:
~Proper Flexions for Control and Balance
~Balanced Transitions to Strengthen the Body
~ Separating the Body Parts
~ Lengthening and Shortening the Stride
~Patterns for Developing Relaxation, Balance and Suppleness
~The "Seat" Connection
~Lateral Movements and Suppling Exercises
~Transitions with Seat Only
~Advanced Flexions
~Leads and Lead Changes
~Developing Self-Carriage and Collection
~The Foundation for Bridle-Less Riding!!
~and more!

Trail Preparation and Bomb-Proofing Workshop
In this clinic we will be working on Ground School and Mounted work with a special emphasis on helping our horse's overcome fear issues and conquer trail related obstacles. It is important to have a solid foundation of ground skills and riding skills where we can move all of our horse's body parts so that we can allow the right things to be easy and cause the wrong things to be difficult. Once this foundation is in place I will help you introduce your horse to a variety of sensory stimulus that will scare your horse. It's your job to keep your horse's feet moving while they overcome this fear. Once the horse's realize they're not being hurt, they will offer to relax and turn loose.
These sensory stimuli can include:
~Flags
~Stock Whips
~Lariat Rope
~Pistols
~Big Ball
~Small Tarps
~Big Tarps
~Passing the Barrel
~Dragging Objects
~Laying your Horse Down!
Later we will work on trail related obstacles including:
~Bridge
~Jumping Barrels
~Carwash
~Turnaround Box
~Garrocha Pole
~Round Pen panels laid down
